NHL Predictions 11/3
Season Record (Winning Teams): 66-56
Season Record (Full Predictions) : 5-117
The battle of the goalies will be tonight's theme as my Crystal ball
shows me guiding light and it's been a view of all situations that make
me feel that guy's between the pipes tonight are the key.
The Red Wings and Bruins, although both at or above .500, are
desperate to find a way to generate offense and get a win. Tim Thomas
goes up against Chris Osgood in Hockeytown tonight. If the Bruins can
find some serious change of chemistry and generate offense, it will
spell trouble for the Red Wings.
Final - Bruins 4 Red Wings 3
Carey Price and Ondrej Pavelec - the battle of youth between the
pipes tonight in Montreal. Price knows that his job could be challenged
by Halak, and needs to step up and prove that he wants to be this teams
#1. However, the Habs need to seriously step up and play in front of
him the way they have for Halak. Could this controversey in Montreal
go from smoke to fire tonight? The Thrashers and Pavelec would like to
hope that is the case. With Kari Lehtonen constantly and currently
injured, Pavelec has proven his value to the Thrashers organization,
and provides the team with capable goaltending making Thrashers brass
wonder if he is the man of the future in Atlanta. Tonight, things can
start to unfold.
Final - Habs 3 Thrashers 1
Tampa Bay (4-4-4)
Jonas Gustavsson vs Antero Niittymaki is what seems to be the situation
for the men behind the masks tonight in Toronto. Both teams are having
some serious issues this season, however, the Leafs are currently the
laughing stock of the league. Phil Kessel will be playing his first
game of the season, and his first game as a Leafs player. This should
provide an offensive spark for the Maple Leafs, but how much of a spark
is yet to be seen as Kessel will be limited to his ice time tonight.
The Bolts need to figure out what's wrong with Vinny (I'm guessing it's
a lingering injury of some sort). A game for the fans (and really just
the fans of either team).
Final - Leafs 3 Bolts 2 F/OT
Marc-Andre Fleury against Jonas Hiller could prime for some
big time goaltending in Anaheim tonight. The Penguins have some injury
issues (as it seems to be a common occurance around the NHL this early
season) and the Ducks have consistency issues. The best record in
hockey goes up against a team trying to find it's true identity
tonight. If history can be changed, the Penguins hope to start that
tonight. The Penguins have one road victory against the state's three
clubs in the past decade, a trend they'll look to change on a four-game
trip that starts tonight in Anaheim, where the struggling Ducks have
won five straight versus the Stanley Cup champions.
Final - Penguins 2 Ducks 1
Andrew Raycroft and "King" Henrik Lundqvist. The Canucks have played
some solid shut down hockey in front of Andrew Raycroft, but I think
the Rangers are on a bigger mission and will be out to prove just that
this evening as they begin their Western Conference road trip.
Raycroft has played great since Luongo has gone down to injury, and the
Canucks hope he can continue his stellar performance tonight. Marian
Gaborik and company will have something to say about that, for sure.
Final - Rangers 4 Canucks 2
enjoy the night!
