It was officially announced this morning that the honour would be given to Shawinigan, who will play host to the top teams of the CHL from May 15th-23rd 2012. They will succeed Mississauga, the city hosting this year's tournament. The QMJHL will next be eligible to host the MasterCard Memorial Cup in 2015.
