Game Day: Philadelphia Flyers @ Phoenix Coyotes

The first matchup featuring the Phoenix Coyotes and departed goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov didn't amount to a result they liked, what with Matt Read scoring the game-winning goal with just 18.6 seconds remaining in the final frame. Now, in their own barn, the Coyotes are looking for proper revenge. Problem is, they may not even get it as Sergei Bobrovsky might get the start in goal for the Flyers as they visit Jobing.com Arena.

The Flyers last faced another former team of Bryzgalov's, Anaheim, less than 24 hours ago. The Ducks got the jump on them with three goals, but the Flyers came back to take the game in overtime, 4-3. Phoenix is coming off a 1-0 loss against Winnipeg that featured the return of Kyle Turris, who took a team-high four shots on goal out of Phoenix's 33 and played 11:58, winning all 6 of his draws.

Quick Hits: Flyers
♦ Claude Giroux, author of the overtime game-winner against Anaheim and the Flyers' leading scorer (14-17-31), played over 24 minutes in the last meeting between these two teams and assisted on the opening goal by James van Riemsdyk. JVR is a 50/50 chance to play tonight due to a muscular tear.
♦ Both Jaromir Jagr's goals last night were assisted by Kimmo Timonen who finished with three helpers on the night. Jagr also added an assist of his own and ended up taking 10 shots on goal, plus 6 that were missed shots.
Andrej Meszaros and Scott Hartnell have combined for 98 hits thus far. Hartnell is also the only other Flyer in double-digits in the goals scored column with 10.

Quick Hits: Coyotes
♦ Despite taking the loss on Thursday, Mike Smith has allowed just two goals in the last three games. He's tied with Tim Thomas for 3rd in league save-percentage with .936.

♦ The hit-leader in Phoenix is Martin Hanzal. His 68 ranks tenth league-wide.
