Game Day: Phoenix Coyotes @ Anaheim Ducks

Hobey Baker Award winner Andy Miele makes his NHL debut for the Phoenix Coyotes tonight as they face off against the 4-2-0 Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Centre.  Puck drop is at 5 p.m. PST.

The 2-3-1 Coyotes, despite putting in a better effort against the Los Angeles Kings, were blanked as Jonathan Quick recorded his 100th career win with a shutout, 2-0.  The Ducks are also coming off a loss, their first in five games, as they got off to a slow start against Dallas and were never able to recover in a game that head coach Randy Carlyle referred to as "turnover fest.  It looked like we were working in a restaurant flipping flapjacks." [1]  Corey Perry marked their lone goal on the power play with less than 1 second to go in the second period as the Ducks fell to the Stars, 3-1.

The Coyotes made a trade this morning, sending Petteri Nokelainen and Garrett Stafford to the Montreal Canadiens in return for Brock Trotter and a seventh-round pick in the upcoming NHL Entry Draft. Trotter is expected to report to the Coyotes' AHL affiliate in Portland.
