Not an hour after he was allowed to begin negotiations with Martin St-Louis on the subject of an extension, who would have become an unrestricted free agent in 2011, the Tampa Bay Lightning have resigned one of their top forwards to a 4-year contract extension, according to an official tweet from the lightning.
The contract is worth $22.5 million, putting Marty's salary at just over $5.5 million per season. A very digestible deal for the Lightning.
