Game Day : Bruins @ Habs

The Boston Bruins are in La Belle Province tonight to sqaure off against the Montreal Canadiens in what could be the Bruins 9th win in a row.

The Bruins seem to be an unstoppable force right now in the Eastern conference, but do not count the Habs out of this one just yet.  The Canadiens are leading the season series 2-,0 and goaltender Carey Price is as hot as they get, having not let in a single goal in his last two outings.  There is always a story behind every Habs and Bruins game, and tonight will be no different.

What needs to be clear about the Bruins current 8 game winning steak is the amount of offensive production the team has come up with.  They have scored 42 goals, have had 2 shutouts and have outscored their opponent by at least 3 goals in 6 of the 8 games in this stretch.  It's safe to say that even with the success the Habs have had recently, this is a tall order in terms of ending the streak tonight.

Showing no signs of slowing down his success in the NHL is 2nd year rookie Tyler Seguin.  Seguin leads the big bad Bruins with 11 goals already this season (21 points). Milan Lucic is also keeping the momentum going from his breakout season last year, he's got 15 points in his first 18 outings.

While the Habs may not score as many goals as some teams, there are still plenty of positives with their offensive play lately.  Max Pacioretty and Erik Cole have been a dangerous tandem and have been creating a ton of chances down low, something the Habs have lacked for years.  Max Pacioretty is currently on a 5 game point streak.

To no surprise, the Habs are still without a ton of their key players.  Sitting tonight's game out will be veteran Hall Gill ( infected cut ), Jaroslav Spacek ( upper body ), Andrei Markov ( Russian influenza ) and Andrei Kostitsyn ( lower body).

Bruins netminder Tim Thomas has a streak of his own coming into tonight's game.  He's got 5 straight wins including 2 shutouts and sits in the top ten in the NHL for goals against and save percentage.  Expect both him and Price to get the call in nets.

Game time is 7:30 pm and the game is being aired on RDS and TSN-HABSHD.

Bon Match!

"Andrei Markov ( Russian influenza )"

That's amazing lol.

I don't know what to make of this team. Obviously you saw my post-Thursday rant, and of course they went out to shut out the Rangers, who were on a similar streak as the Bruins. Price is white hot but it won't be as easy as they made it seem Sunday. Honestly this is either going to be 6-1 Bruins or 4-0 Habs, who knows lol

Yeah no predictions coming from me. My rant resulted in a 4-0 win over Buff, yours gave us a 4-0 win over the Rangers. Maybe we should rant every game.
