Game Day : Habs @ Bruins
It's game day. About time too. 3 days between games is just way too long if you ask me. The Habs (30-19-5) head over to Bean Town to face their division rivals the Boston Bruins (30-16-7).
Should be a good one tonight. We are 2 point behind Boston and they have a game in hand, so tonight is a very important game to win. Coming off a loss against the Devils, we look to control the first ten minutes a little better than we did last time. Can't blame anyone for went down on Sunday though, and by no means did we give up after those first two goals. Should be a defensive showdown tonight. Both teams have struggled scoring, but have excelled and not being scored on. Makes for an interesting match up.
With both teams coming off a loss, it's hard to say anyone is hot this week. If I have to name names I would say Brian Gionta/Pleks/Pac line is the hottest. Carey Price is also hot, but thats no news. He's been pretty consistent all season long. For Boston, it's Patrice Bergeron who's got the hot hands. He's got 8 points in his last 6 and he usually has multi point nights against the Habs. Mind you, he plays better against us at the Bell Center.
Expect to see Carey Price and Tim Thomas between the pipes tonight. Both are having great seasons. I really like this match up. You can sort of feel the relation between these two netminders. Although the age difference is there, both are in the middle of a season that is make or break for their careers. Is Price the real deal? Is Thomas too old?
Original six showdowns are always more meaningful. They usually make for a better game. With a win tonight, we will be tied for first in the Northeast Division. For this, I will be heading to the city tonight to catch the game. Thinking of wearing my Boston Jersey (Lucic) just for some laughs to the bar tonight.
Game starts at 7:00pm and is being aired on RDS and TSN.
