Game Day : Habs vs Sabres
So this is it. My final game of the regular season. I put my perfect 6-0 record on the line. It's been a great year for me. I've seen plenty of games, a road game and a Carey Price shutout. I've seen an OT win, and a shootout. Gotta say, this has been by far the best year I've had going to games. With that being said, I'm extremely nervous putting my perfect record on the line.
Buffalo is going to be a tough one tonight. They are tight in a playoff race and with The Rangers winning their last 4 games and Carolina close on their tail, look for the Sabres to be pumping at 110%. Not to mention it's been almost a 50/50 split between the Sabres and the Habs all season. This will be the 6th meeting of the two teams. Habs winning 3 of those first 5. Last time these two faced off we were treated to an extra long shoutout, that ended with Buffalo scoring in the 10th round. Are we going to see the same tonight?
I expect a tighter game that we saw in Minny. Habs are not going to blow the Sabres out. I don't necessarily think it will be a low scorer, but I think it's going to be back and forth.
AK46 has been the hottest Hab recently. He's sitting with 12 points in his last 13 games. This coming after going nine games without a point. Was it nerves around trade deadline that threw AK into a drought? Nah, was just him being the lazy under-achieving Russian "superstar" that he thinks he is. Hate to rag on him because he's killing it lately, but really? Where ya been this entire season? Guys got the capability to have 70+ pts in a season.
Buffalo's scouting/development has paid of well with Tyler Ennis. Despite being a shrimp, the kids having a hell of a rookie year. Originally he was my pick for Calder, but with the surprises of Logan Couture and Jeff Skinner, he's fallen the sheet of potentials. Still, I really think he's got a bright future with the club, and will be a household name sooner than later. 20 goal scorer in his first season on a struggling team is usually a good sign. He's got 12 points in his last 14. I thank Tyler Ennis personally for being the rookie that landed me Bobby Ryan in my fantasy pool earlier on in the season.
No point in naming the Habs injury list. We all know it. The Sabres are without Hecht, Montador and Kaleta. Hecht was the player to score in the 10th round of shootouts the last time these two teams faced off.
Miller and Price should get the green lights tonight. A report earlier today said Price left practice early today favoring his knee. However, it's been said that he is OK, and will play tonight. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Game starts at 7:30 and is being aired on RDS and TSN.
