Flyers Injury Updates: Meszaros, Read

UPDATE: Andrej Meszaros was sick today according to Paul Holmgren. He didn't have a set-back.

ORIGINAL: Flyers defenseman Andrej Meszaros may have had a bit of a set back.

Only a day after general manager Paul Holmgren said that Meszaros was improving, the injured defenseman wasn't on the ice for the Flyers practice this morning. And going by Holmgren a couple weeks ago, Meszaros was expected to return to the Flyers around now.

Meszaros suffered a dislocated shoulder on January 24 against the Rangers, the fourth game of the season for the Flyers. In the last year, Meszaros has suffered a herniated disk in his back, a ruptured Achilles tendon and now a dislocated shoulder.

Injured right winger Matt Read was on the ice today for the first time since tearing muscles in his rib cage on February 20.

Read was dressed in a regular practice jersey and participated in normal cycling drills.

Read, who was expected to miss 4-6 weeks due to the injury, said he is ahead of schedule. He told reporters today after practice that he feels he is 2-3 weeks away from returning to the lineup.

That is definite good news for the Flyers.
