Flyers Waive Danny Syvret, Matt Ford

The Flyers have waived a pair of players this afternoon.

Defenseman Danny Syvret and winger Matthew Ford were placed on waivers by the Flyers this afternoon. Only Syvret has had NHL playing time, playing with the Oilers, Flyers, and Ducks.

Both players are expected to clear waivers and stay in Adirondack.

Syvret, 27, played all of last season with the Peoria Rivermen, the St. Louis Blues' AHL affiliate. In 75 games, he scored seven goals and 35 assists from the blue line.

This season with the Phantoms, Syvret had a goal and 12 assists in 35 games with the Phantoms. His -12 rating was his worst in the AHL since 2005-2006.

Waiving Syvret makes room for any of the defensemen that fail to make the Flyers club by Saturday.

Ford was acquired from the Hershey Bears of Washington's system midway through last season. This year, Ford has only eight points in 23 games.
