Matt Read Tears Chest Muscles; Out Six Weeks

The Flyers will be without another top liner for an extended period of time.

Matt Read will miss about six weeks after suffering a muscle tear in the rib cage area in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Penguins in Pittsburgh. The news comes only a few days after the Flyers set a time table on the return of left winger Scott Hartnell.

Read was injured with about three minutes to go in the first period when he was hit in the open ice by Penguins forward Chris Kuntiz.

Read leads the Flyers with seven goals, and has 13 points through 18 games this season.
