Rimer: Danny Briere Will Be Bought Ought; Ilya Bryzgalov Will Not

The Flyers rumor mill has been churning out some good ones the past couple of days.

But now it appears there may be some truth and answers.

Josh Rimer has confirmed that the Flyers plan to buyout forward Danny Briere. As for the status of their Russian netminder, it appears that he will be in the orange and black for another season.

Rimer also confirmed that Ilya Bryzgalov will not be bought out. Rimer said that Rich Winters, Bryzgalov's agent, was told by general manager Paul Holmgren that Bryzgalov will not be bought out.

This comes four days after Bob McKenzie, The Fourth Period and Tim Panaccio all tweeted that Bryzgalov could most likely be bought out.

Rimer also tweeted that the Flyers felt they overworked Bryzgalov and that he played way more games than intended this season. Rimer tweeted:

"Was also told that Holmgren told the Bryzgalov camp that they felt they overplayed him this yr. That he shouldn't have started so many games"

Bryzgalov played in 40 games this season, posting a 19-17-3 record, 2.79 GAA and .900 save percentage.

Bobby Ryan Rumors -- The Bobby Ryan rumors are starting up again.

This time, Tim Panaccio reported that sources told him the Flyers and Anaheim Ducks are in talks concerning a trade for the Cherry Hill, NJ native. The reports are that the Flyers could trade defenseman Braydon Coburn and the 11th pick in this year's draft to the Ducks for Ryan.

“Still a lot to be worked out,” said one of the two sources who have no affiliation with the Flyers.
