Nassau Coliseum to Host Annual Islanders Draft Party

The NHL Draft is a month away and the Islanders announced that on June 27th, Nassau Coliseum will once again host the annual Draft Party. It was officially confirmed last week that the Islanders have kept the 5th overall pick in this year’s draft and send next year’s 1st round pick to the Buffalo Sabres to complete the Thomas Vanek trade from October.

Fans in attendance will be able to watch the Islanders announce their draft pick, meet current players, members of the Ice Girls and take part in various interactive activities. All of those details can be found here. The NHL Draft takes place this year at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, home of the Flyers on June 27th and 28th.

This annual draft party will be the start of the final season of Islanders hockey at Nassau Coliseum before the team moves to Barclays Center for the 2015-2016 season. The final season of Nassau Coliseum in 2014-2015 will be nothing but memorable for the Islanders and their fans. We at The Checking Line hope to see many of the fans in attendance at the draft party.
