Game 12 Habs @ Blue Jackets

Montreal (7-3-1) rolls into Columbus (6-4-0) tonight to face the Blue Jackets. Another game we don't see all that often. Very excited to see how the Habs deal with the loss they suffered on Saturday. Eager to see if Price bounces right back, which I think he will. He did play a good game, and only gave up two goals (other than the penalty shot) on rebounds that were, in my opinion, pretty awesome goals. Markov gave little to no help on the PP. Still very unsuccessful. Let's see if they can work on that tonight.

After the off night on Saturday, look for the line of Plekanec, Kostitsyn and Cammalleri to be on the hunt for some points. These guys have been playing some very entertaining hockey this season and I don't expect them to stay off the stat sheet very long.

Over on Columbus, R.J Umberger looks to improve the good start he's having. Coming off a career season(23-32-82), Umberger leads his team with 4 goals. Blue Jackets' captain, Rick Nash, would like to make an improvement on the slow start he's had. 5 points in 10 games doesn't seem that bad, but for a guy who can produce like Nash can, he would love a multi point night against Montreal.

I can't say I'm extremely familiar with the Blue Jackets' style of play. So it's a tough one to call. Both teams are having decent seasons so far. The only difference maker I can see at the moment is goaltending. Chris Mason has struggled this season and is sitting on a 4-4-0 record with a 3.30 GAA and a .890 Sv% while Carey Price is doing much better with a 6-3-1 record with a 2.38 GAA and a .910 Sv% .

I think it's going to be a tough one, but a tough WIN for the Habs tonight. My prediction is 4-3 Habs. No overtime.

Game starts at 7:00pm and is being aired on RDS and TSN-Habs.

Just read that Garon is getting the start. My Bad!
Garon sitting at 2-0-0 with a GAA of 1.61 and a Sv% of .940 .
Better stats, less games. I give the advantage to Price still.

Bon Match!

Garon could have a huge game against his former team... Habs on the road, but Martin is looking like he could be willing to make a few adjustments, as I pointed out in my blog yesterday. We'll see.

No prediction from me today, just enjoy the game Smile

Also of note, there's a rumor going around that Spacek could still be suffering from that weird illness he had during the playoffs that they only ever described as an "inner ear infection"... apparently it's to the point where he might retire, so it might not be a healthy scratch tonight... keep an eye on that.

I've heard the same thing. Heard that it doesn't go away. Mild balance problems. Tough break for the guy.

Oh why couldnt it be steve mason we were facing tonight, with his play recently no where near goalie of 2 seasons ago who tore it up with like 15 shutouts, dont know whats bothering his play.

But this is the usual habs superstition, we cringe when we have to face a french canadian goalie lol.

Personally i have alot of problems with 4 out of 8 of the habs D and dont really mind losing spacek for a little bit.
