Game 26 : Habs @ Devils

C'mon. Seriously guys. What the hell. Why do we have such trouble with bottom of the barrel teams. It's the most frustrating thing ever. 3-1....3-1!! JM sat back in the 3rd, as per usual, and a couple bad bounces and some terrible play from PK and we lose the game. Ugh.

Habs (15-8-2) leave the city and head over to New Jersey tonight to face the Devils. (8-14-2)
What makes this interesting is that Martin Brodeur will not be in nets for Jersey. Instead will Johan Hedberg who's been on a bit of a streak lately. Winning 3 of his last 4 starts, Hedberg looks to add to the momentum. New Jersey has been just awful so far this season. After landing Ilya Kovelchuk over the off season, New Jersey has been out scored, out played and out everything'd so far this season. Even since the team turned it up the past few games, Ilya can't seem to adjust. To many cooks in the kitchen over on the Jersey shore?

Carey Price looks to bounce back from a disappointing overtime loss last night. Can't really blame him. The guys in front of him gave the puck up multiple times, that resulted in the final two goals scored by Edmonton. Not to discredit the came out strong in the 3rd, but ultimately Montreal handed them the win.

Mike Cammalleri and Scott Gomez seemed to of come alive last night. The PP also seemed to have some spark to it. Unfortunately out perfect record when scoring on the PP came to a rest last night. We are now 10-0-1 when scoring on the Power Play. I like the addition of Darche on the PP. He's great in front of the net. I hope he sticks around and doesn't get dropped if he goes a game or two without a PP point. I'd also like to see Eller get some PP time. He seems to be getting stronger on the puck, just needs to work at getting it deep at the end of a shift.

Markov not suiting up for tonight. Devils without Brodeur and could be without veteran Captain, Jamie Langenbrunner and Jason Arnott.

No predictions for this one. Seems I've been off lately. Although, I can say with confidence that we will not be shutout by Brodeur tonight. ;)

Enjoy the game.

Game starts at 7:00pm and is being aired on RDS.

Yannick Weber is in tonight... I fear PK is being scratched.

Hmmmm. Could be a good move. I love PK, but he's gotten himself in some crappy situations lately. Since Richards called him out, he seems to be a bit beside himself in play. Would like to see if a scratch could heat him up again.

WOO !!! No problems with this bottom-of-the-barrel team Smile Besides, I think the oil might finally be greased enough to compete - they certainly cleaned up the Eastern Canadian teams... another 2 for Hall tonight! Anyway, back to what's really important - the habs, another W, and maybe even the beginning of Gomez being a consistent impact player... nice to see Eller getting comfortable as well (funny how it's happening at the same time Jaro's slumping something bad too).
