Blackhawks v Predators: Game Predators

CHI v NSH- Game Preview

6:00pm CST

The Blackhawks are all too familiar with the Nashville Predators, playing their third game in week and second of the weekend against the division rival team.

Chicago took it’s first victory against the struggling Predators back in February in a 3-0 shutout victory before they met again at the top of April this week for another thrashing, and again last night for a one-goal game.

The Blackhawks have played a simpler game against the Predators this year, relying on good defensive positioning and a quick offensive game to generate opportunities.  While it may not be as pretty or exciting to watch, the Hawks have been able to make the less flashy play work to their advantage for this series.

Ray Emery had a fantastic night with 20 saves to give him his second shutout victory in his last three starts, but Corey Crawford will likely get the nod from head coach Joel Quenneville for a start between the pipes in this back-to-back matchup.

Chicago led Nashville with 30 SOG to their 20 with noticeable contributions from Jonathan Toews, Dan Carcillo, and Bryan Bickell with the game’s only goal.

Although the Predators have dropped five of their last 6 games, goaltender Pekka Rinne, with a .915 Sv% has still been able to hold his own in the net to make high scoring games difficult for his opponents.

The puck drops at 6:00pm CST.

Injury Report: Predators short Paul Gaustad, Gabriel Bourque, and Colin Wilson.  Blackhawks forwards Dave Bolland and Patrick Sharp are both questionable according to Quenneville.
