IceHogs Interview: Pirri & Morin

IceHogs Interview: Pirri & Morin

The Rockford IceHogs are at a crucial point of their schedule, with only four games left in the regular season and every point critical to determining which teams will make the playoff cut.  The IceHogs are 38-31-79 on the season, with a division rivalry matchup against the Chicago Wolves tonight to heat up the BMO Harris Bank center for Fan Appreciation Night.

Forwards Brandon Pirri and Jeremy Morin have made their mark on the Rockford team in a big way this season and were great enough to talk with TheCheckingLine.com after practice on Friday:

Brandon Pirri (20-43-63), in his third season with the IceHogs has led the team in points and assists these past two years and notched a standout rookie year setting a single season rookie record with 43 points in 2010-11.  Brandon says he's gotten more comfortable playing in the league and gained confidence in himself, which has contributed to his success in finding his teammates on the ice for those scoring opportunities.

Jeremy Morin (28-23-51), also in his third season, already has a 10-goal lead on his record last year and is the current leading goalscorer for the IceHogs.  Morin has been called up to the Chicago Blackhawks twice this year and scored an unassisted opening goal for Chicago during his first shift of the night against the Detroit RedWings in the Hawks blowout 7-1 victory last month.
