Hawks prepare to face Columbus Blue Jackets

The Hawks look to continue their winning ways in Columbus on Saturday night and they will be getting back more players to help them do so.

Corey Crawford is scheduled to return from injury and man the Blackhawks net. Corey looks to continue his hot hand in net that he had prior to injury.  Duncan Keith will be in the line up as well having gotten over his illness which is good news for the Blackhawks and maybe not such good new for the Blue Jackets.

When the Hawks face Columbus this will be the first time they will play against a familiar face now in a Columbus jersey when they play against Jeremy Morin. Morin could not crack the Hawks regular line-up but seems to have landed in regular spot in Columbus.

The Hawks are coming into the contest red hot with a record of 9-1-0 in their last ten games but Columbus has not exactly been a slouch either with a 7-2-1 record especially when you consider how many of their starters are on LTIR. Always a hard working team that focuses on defense first the Hawks will need to bring their hard hats with them if they are to leave Columbus with a win.

Currently the Blue Jackets are sitting outside of the playoffs so to say these points means a lot to them is an understatement.  The Hawks meantime need the points as well to keep ahead of the Blues and the Predators in the ultra competitive Central Division.

Who to watch for on the Blue Jackets is Nick Foligno who leads the team with 30 points and 16 goals. Foligno has five goals in the last five games. The Hawks defense and forwards need to close the gaps and make sure they know exactly where Foligno is when on the ice.

The Blackhawks historically have a good record in Columbus dating back to when they were in the same division but this is a very different Blue Jackets team from those days. Look for a tight checking, close gaps and a defensive physical game.

Trevor Van Riemsdyk is on LTIR and out still recovering from surgery on his left patella that was fractured

Artem Anisimov is on LTIR with torn triceps

Scott Hartnell is on LTIR with a broken finger

Nathan Horton is on LTIR with degeneration of the back

Ryan Murray is on LTIR with knee ijsury

Mark Letestu is on LTIR with groin injury
