Herder Memorial Trophy Videos

Here's a couple of goal highlight compilation videos from the 2007 and 2008 Herder Memorial Trophy winning games. The Herder Memorial Trophy is the Holy Grail in Newfoundland senior hockey, first awarded in the 1930s, before the era of Canadian Confederation. Numerous teams, both active and defunct, have hoisted the trophy, such as the Corner Brook Royals, Clarenville Caribous, and Deer Lake Red Wings, just to name a few. One team, the Corner Brook Royals, went on to participate in the Allan Cup, the Holy Grail of senior hockey in all of Canada, and won it. That happened in 1986.

First clip is from Game 6 of the 2007 Herder Championship, held in Corner Brook and featuring the Deer Lake Red Wings and Conception Bay North Cee Bee Stars. Date: April 21, 2007.

Second clip is from Game 6 of the 2008 Herder Championship, held in St. John's and featuring the same two teams. Date: April 12, 2008.
