Your Team Canada has been unveiled, check inside for the full roster.
The day that millions of Canadian's have been waiting for has arrived. Steve Yzerman, Executive Director for Team Canada, and the rest of Hockey Canada will finally answer the question that has been burning within hockey fans since 2006. That is, who will represent Canada and wear the Maple Leaf in Vancouver next February at the 2010 Winter Olympics. The announcement will be made live on TSN, CTV and Sportsnet at Noon EST (9:00AM PST). The event can also be streamed live online at CTVOlympics.ca
There are no surprises expected in goal as Martin Brodeur, Roberto Luongo and Marc-Andre Fleury are expected to be named to the roster with Brodeur being the starter. For forwards Sidney Crosby, Jarome Iginla, Dany Heatley, Joe Thornton, Rick Nash, Patrick Marleau, Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry are some of the players considered locks on making it.
Meanwhile, on defense the picture is a bit more blurry. Scott Niedermayer and Chris Pronger are guaranteed to make the team. Dan Boyle, Duncan Keith and Shea Weber are pretty close to locks. The battle remains for the 6th and 7th position with Brent Seabrook, Jay Bouwmeester and Mike Green as the leading candidates to fill those final two spots.
