Ducks Acquire Aaron Ward
The Anaheim Ducks have acquired defenseman Aaron Ward from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for goaltender Justin Pogge and a 4th round pick.
Aaron Ward won a Stanley Cup with Carolina in 2006, but has spent the last three seasons with the Boston Bruins before rejoining the Hurricanes this season. He has 1 goal and 10 assists for the Hurricanes this season, but he is not an offensive defender.
In exchange, the Hurricanes acquire a 4th round pick and goaltending prospect Justin Pogge. Pogge, once a highly-touted Leafs prospect did not live up to his billing in Toronto and as a result was dealt to the Anaheim Ducks. He has posted a 12-7-3 record so far this season in the AHL with the San Antonio Rampage, with a 2.57 GAA and a .920 SV%.
