Leaf Carols: Bitter Leafland

Photobucket

What better way to get into the Christmas season than by singing a Christmas Carol?

Bitter Leafland

Final horn sounds, are you listening,
on the ice, waffles glistening
A miserable sight,
we're losing tonight,
walking in a bitter Leafland.

Gone away is the winning,
here to stay is the losing,
We sing a sad song,
as they do everything wrong,
walking in a bitter Leafland.

In the market we can find a forward,
Then pretend that he is Dustin Brown,
He'll say: Are we good?
we'll say: No man,
But you can do the job
when you're in town.

Later on, time expires,
as we dream, Ron Wilson's fired
then we face completely afraid,
the debacle Burke's made,
walking in a bitter Leafland.

Burke's phone rings, he's not listening,
his own trade freeze, means no working,
The fans have every right,
to pelt with waffles tonight,
walking in a bitter Leafland.

Gone away is the rebuild,
here to stay is the team that Burke killed,
But he sings along,
that we gotta stay strong,
walking in a bitter Leafland.

In the summer we can sign a defenceman,
and pretend that he's not another defenceman,
We'll have lots of fun predicting playoffs,
until the season starts once again.

When we win, ain't it thrilling,
Though you know it ain't lasting
We'll frolic and play, the Islander way,
walking in a bitter Leafland.

Walking in a bitter Leafland,
Walking in a bitter Leafland.
