Faceoff Saturday Review
Chicago 4 @ Florida 0
Vokoun can't stand on his head every game! Backup goalie Niemi gets it done with his first career NHL shutout (I think) and here we go with goaltending controversy 2.0 in Chicago. Pat Kane is beating up on other teams like they're cab drivers.
Detroit 3 @ St-Louis 5
Are the Wings hungover from 2 cup runs in a row or are the Blues for real? I would go with the latter.
Vancouver 0 @ Colorado 3
Craig Anderson standing on his head for the Avs so far. They could do very well this season now that they have a goaltender who actually stops pucks. Matt Duchene is a lock for rookie of the year if he keeps playing the way he has.
Carolina 2 @ Boston 7
Montreal 2 @ Buffalo 1 (OT)
Price stands tall again stopping 30+ shots. Habs getting outshot pretty badly in their first 2 games but it seems that the other teams got the memo from last year and are testing Price from everywhere. No luck so far (: Brian Gionta is on pace for 82 goals!
Philadelphia 5 @ New Jersey 2
Pittsburgh 4 @ NY Islanders 3 (SO)
Johnny T scores his first NHL goal in his first NHL game.
Ottawa 2 @ Ny Rangers 5
Gaborik has 2 goals in 2 games. Can he stay healthy?
Toronto 4 @ Washington 6
Hard to stop Alex The Gr8, but Vesa Toskala has a whooping 4.94 GAA and an awesome .800 save percentage so far. Gustavsson looked very average as well last night, but shows much more promise than #35. François Beauchemin and Mike Komisarek have looked absolutely horrible so far.
Tampa Bay 3 @ Atlanta 1
Battle of the Bads. A-town comes out victorious with 2 goals from Kovalchuk.
Minnesota 1 @ Columbus 2
Mason looks solid.
Nashville 3 @ Dallas 2 (SO)
I absolutely have no idea what happened in that game.
Calgary 4 @ Edmonton 3
The Bullin Wall looked like the Berlin one circa 1989 on that 4th Calgary goal.
San Jose 4 @ Ducks 1
San Jose totally owned that game
Phoenix 6 @ Los Angeles 3
Oh, so they're still in Phoenix?
