Avs win again, head home tied for first in Division

Dutch and Stas celebrate their win with their bam bam dance

The Avs finished the road trip on a high note with two straight wins and a total of 6 points out of a possible 12. Not too shabby for the boys, especially considering they didn't play the greatest the first three games. Several players played some of their best hockey over the road trip, and the number one player that deserves praise is Matt Duchene. He really came into his own during the trip and hopefully he can keep it up the rest of the season. Last night however, Stastny finally had a good offensive night getting a goal and two assists. that is what Paul needs to do more consistently if he wants to truly lead this team.

Man did Craig Anderson have a game last night, I said he only needed to shake some rust off and he would be back to his ways. Well Andy made 40 saves and kept the Avs in the game when the team seemed to sit back with a two goal lead. Andy is starting to heat up again and I have a feeling he will be in it for the long run.

The final praise I will give out for last nights great win was Kevin Shattenkirk. The guy is lighting up the scoring sheet like no other player right now and after lasts nights one goal one assist performance, Kevin moves into 6th place on rookie scoring. The reason that is such a big feat is Kevin has played 10 games less then the 5 people in front of him. Hopefully this guy can keep it up and be in the running for Calder talks.

I like where the team is right now and up next is 16 of 21 games at home, and if they can play well at home, they should come out after the home stand on top of the Northwest division.
