Stastny's days over? Could be tomorrow! Rumors
Well with all the huge trades that have happened today, the Avs haven't stayed out of the game. I am hearing rumors left and right that Stastny is in play to several teams. The two biggest that are constantly being stated are Toronto and now Los Angeles. After the Richards deal, L.A. could try and land Stastny for Bernier and some add ons. Right now the Avs number one priority is a goalie, so there definitely could be a move done. The other big item in play for the Avs is the number 11 pick. The Avs don't have a huge need for the number 11 pick and it may be traded to either L.A. or even Vancouver for Schneider. It will be extremely interesting the next 24 hours for the league especially after the huge Carter and Richards deals.
Another huge transaction from today will have to do with Bryzgalov's contract. With the Avs or any other team going after Vokoun, the goalie may have a new place to start on contract negotiations. So now the question is exactly where do the Avs go and what moves do they make?
With the number 2 pick in the draft the Avs select.....?? That is another question eating at every Av fan in the country. Do they go after Larsson, RNH, Landeskog, or Huberdeau? Every time I hear a rumor the Avs are closer to one over the other and then it changes. However GM Greg Sherman has stated they have made their decision already. My bet is that it will hopefully be Landeskog. The reason being the type of player Lando is: a power forward. That is what the Avs have been lacking since the loss of Chris Stewart in the trade for Eric Johnson.
It will be an exciting 24 hours to be a hockey fan, and an Av fan!!!!
