News out of Montreal this morning has confirmed that coach Jacques Martin has been fired. A press conference is about to being and general manager Pierre Gauthier will be leading the presser. Randy Cunneyworth will take over intermin head coaching duties and Larry Carriere will become an assistant coach.
The Habs currently sit in last place of the Northeast division and out of a playoff spot in the Eastern conference. The 57 year old Martin has been the coach of the team since the 2008-09 season.

Was it really that shocking? The Habs have been terrible this year with Martin.
It took them three months to fire him so it's definitely shocking.
