Sharks take a bite out of New Jersey in 5-2 victory

New York, NY - The San Jose Sharks (4-3-1) offense took a bite out of the New Jersey Devils (2-7-1) in their 5-2 victory in Wednesday night hockey. The top line of Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau and Danny Heatley recording a whopping 13 points in a strong performance.

Thornton who had his fourth career hat trick added two assist, while Marleau and Heatley each had a goal and three assist in winning their first game at home in San Jose this season. In the cage for San Jose Antero Nittymaki made 27 saves in the victory.

Meanwhile for the struggling Devils David Clarkson and Andy Green were able to record goals, as the Devils have lost three straight and five of its last six games. In the cage Martin Brodeur made 34 saves.

Up next for the struggling Devils is a 10:00 p.m. Friday night game in Anaheim against a usually solid Ducks squad.
