Rick Nash joins NYR

In a long awaited trade, the New York Rangers officially acquired Rick Nash from the Columbus Blue Jackets. The 28 year old Canadian forward, who stands at 6'4" and weighs in at about 218lbs met with the New York Rangers media Wednesday and was all smiles as he explained his goal of embracing the pressures of the bright Madison Square Garden lights. The five time NHL All-Star was awarded the gold metal after playing for Team Canada in the 2007 World Championships and took home his second gold in the 2010 Winter Olympics. Nash scored 30 goals and tallied 59 points during the 2011-2012 season. The New York Rangers are confident Nash will flourish under Coach Tortorella's system, and be the big scoring forward the Rangers were missing.
