Blues Goalie Earns Third Star
The goaltending in St. Louis this year can not be described as nothing less than spectacular. Today it gained another notch in the belt, as the team gears up for a playoff run, when Jaroslav Halak was named the third star of the week by the NHL.

Halak's accomplishment adds him to the short list of Blues players who also have been named one of the third stars throughout this season by the NHL. Back in November, other Blues goaltender Brian Elliot was named the third star and so was forward David Perron, in February, as a third star as well.
After a rough start to the year, Halak has turned it all around since, becoming one of the top goalies across the whole league. He currently is in an eight game winning streak of his own, allowing no more than 2 goals in each game. His G.A.A. now sits at 1.82, which is good enough to place him second best behind companion Brian Elliot.
During the eight game streak that Halak is in, he has put up wins against central division rivals the Chicago Blackhawks, as well, a sweep of a Western road swing against the Sharks, Oilers, Flames and Jets.
The Blues, and Halak, look to continue their winning ways in the week coming up. After a big win against Columbus that gave the Blues their first five game winning streak of the season, they will look to extend that streak with games against the Hawks, Hurricanes and Lightning in the upcoming week.
