Islanders Jet Past Winnipeg 5-2 At Home

As the season winds down, a playoff berth for the Islanders becomes more realistic with each passing day. For a team that has played so poorly during stretches this year, they still find themselves in the mix for a playoff spot.

The Islanders are playing meaningful games in April and shortened season or not, that is a big deal.

They took the ice on Tuesday night to face a Jets team that was handled by the Rangers the night before. The Islanders took a bus ride over from New Jersey and looked to remain hot. The excited Isles took the ice at home after beating the Devils just 24 hours prior.

Prospect Report 7/3/12: Blue and White Scrimmage

The Islanders held there annual prospect scrimmage last week and a few players stood out from the group during the game. The “orange” team was able to come out with the 3-0 win in what was a defensive dominated game.

Scott Mayfield was the prospect that stood out the most during the game. He played well with the puck and physical without it.

#5 Andrey Pedan – Defenseman, Guelph Storm (OHL) 6’-4” 205lbs

Andrey played in 63 games this season finishing with 40 points (10 goals and 30 assists). He also played in 6 games during the OHL playoffs where the Storm were eliminated in the first round.
