The Ontario Hockey League has suspended Flyers top goalie prospect Anthony Stolarz for eight games for a slashing incident on Tuesday.
Stolarz, the starting goalie for the London Knights, slashed Windsor Spitfires forward Joshua Ho-Sang in the back of the head during the first period of a 10-2 playoff win. Stolarz reacted after he took an unwanted jab from Ho-Sang's stick following a shot.
The 2014 World Junior Championships have come and gone.
Finland captured gold on January 5 to win the tournament for players under the age of 20. The host team, Sweden, fell to Finland 3-2 to settle for silver.
Russia defeated Canada to take home bronze. Canada and the United States, two favorites, went home with nothing.
The World Juniors are exciting to watch for the international hockey fan in everyone each year. But whether you have an allegiance to a certain nation or not, it can still be a good time to get familiar with top young prospects.

The TCL Flyers team went on a journey to Voorhees, NJ on Thursday, bringing you some on-site coverage for the 2013 Player Development Camp.
John Russo, Jordan Kuhns, Dan MacNeal and Alicia Sprenkle were all on-hand, and will bring to you their observations on some goalies, defensemen and others who could make an impact on the Flyers this season and future seasons.
A certain controversial goaltender is looking to return to hockey in the NHL, and with a vacancy in Philadelphia after buying out Ilya Bryzgalov, the Flyers have been linked a few times the past couple days.
Sources close to free agent goaltender Tim Thomas state that the 39-year-old netminder is "intrigued" by the young nucleous of the Flyers, but is unsure of whether or not he is a fit for the Flyers. Thomas' agent, Bill Zito, made clear that he isn't entirely sure where Thomas is leaning in regards to his future destination.
And a source in Philly said the Orange and Black remain “uncertain” as well.
