Blackhawks seek to break mid-season slump after loss to Stars

The Blackhawks hosted the Dallas Stars at the United Center on Sunday night, and it was a bad game. After the game, head coach Joel Quenneville called it a "carbon copy" of the loss to the Jets on Friday night.

Based on the score sheet, you can see how things went. Chicago outshot Dallas 41-34 (77-53 if you include blocked shots and missed shots), went 48% of the dot, but ultimately trailed 6-3. The Stars made it 2-0 by the 11-minute mark of the period on Tyler Seguin and Cody Eakin goals - and the second goal was short-handed. While Patrick Kane and Brandon Saad (PPG) would even things up 2-2 for the home team, Vernon Fiddler would give the lead 3-2 back to the Stars...

Hawks grounded by Jets 4-2

The Blackhawks came into this game well rested and the Jets came in off of a game the night before in Dallas yet it was the Jets that again had more energy and out worked the Hawks to skate away with their third win this year at the United Center.

The Winnipeg Jets have take six point from the Hawks and are now only two points behind them in the Central Division. Somehow the Hawks are going to have to figure this team out or hope they don’t meet them in the playoffs.

Hawks to face off against Jets

After a convincing 4-1 win against the Minnesota Wild and an unusually long four-day break between games, the Blackhawks will welcome the Winnipeg Jets to the United Center on Friday night for a Central division showdown.

Hawks power past Avs to win 5-2

As has become tradition in the last few years on his birthday, Patrick Sharp scored a goal and the Hawks picked up a win, defeating the Avalanche 5-2 in Denver on Saturday night. Corey Crawford found redemption after getting pulled in his last start, stopping 23 shots while opposing netminder Calvin Pickard cooled off after being red-hot in his last three games.

Hawks hang on to win 2-1 over Calgary Flames

The Hawks came in looking to rebound off of their loss in New York vs the Islander and bounce back they did. Most importantly they worked hard to beat a very hard working team and can take pride in their efforts and skate away with a solid team win.

Coming in the Hawks had to play within less than 24 hrs to a rested Calgary Flames team but somehow the Hawks were able to muster up the energy to put together a win.

The game also so Tim Erixon make his debut in a Blackhawks jersey and played on the third defensive pairing with Rozsival. Erixon had a solid game for his first and looked pretty comfortable on the backend. Welcome to Chicago and good luck with the Hawks.

The Hawks have been trailing in the Central Division all year and chasing some other teams. Coming into the Bridgestone Arena, the Hawks had the opportunity to not only catch the division leading team but to surpass them and take over for the first time this season as the Central Division leader and seize the opportunity they did.

Chicago conquers Kings to close out Circus trip

The Blackhawks finished off their circus trip with a bang in LA, besting the Kings 4-1 and finishing their Circus trip with a solid 5-1-0 record. Brad Richards had two goals in the win as the Hawks’ second line continued to dominate, and netminder Corey Crawford made 19 shots in his 14th consecutive start to earn the victory.

Hawks dim Stars 6-2

 On a night that saw the Blackhawks honor Brad Richards’ 1000 game, the Hawks and the Stars got off to a fast start with a first period that saw everything from goals to a fight to an unfortunate lower body injury to Trevor Van Riemsdyk.

Corey Crawford was in the Hawks nets and Kari Lehtonen in the Stars nets. The Hawks lineup also saw some changes up front as well with Joakim Nordstrom in place of Peter Regin who was sent to Rockford. Daniel Carcillo also returned to the lineup which put Jeremy Morin as a healthy cratch.
