End A Streak, Begin A Streak.

Once again, the New York Islanders found themselves in a must win game to keep themselves away from what became far too common last year; a prolonged losing streak.

Where Will Grabner Fit With The Isles?

Michael Grabner has been activated off the injured reserve and is close to making his debut in the Islanders line-up this season. He was seen this morning practicing with Frans Nielsen and Mikhail Grabovski, although it has yet to be confirmed if this is the line he will be playing with tomorrow night when they visit the Ottawa Senators for the second half of a home-and-home match-up.

Where Grabner would fit has come into question, given that the current line-up has done very well this season (18-7-0).

Isles Defeat Devils 3-1 In Front of Sold Out Crowd

The New York Islanders played in a packed house filled with two fan bases that were seething with animosity towards one another. In previous years, a visiting division rival fan base would overtake the Coliseum and diminish most “Let’s Go Islanders” chants.

Not this year.

On a night where the team was honoring Islanders legend, Denis Potvin, Isles fans quickly extinguished the chants from New Jersey fans and drowned out their support (as well as throw in many other chants as well) with ease as the home team fought for a 3-1 victory in front of a sold out Nassau Coliseum crowd.

Bringing The Thunder On The Lightning

It's becoming more evident that the games the Islanders play against elite teams are ones they should usually win, which was the exact opposite case last year.

The loss snapped the Isles’ five game win streak but they will look to start up another one at the Nassau Coliseum against a loaded Lightning team.

11/15/14 Pregame: Isles look to strike first in Tampa Bay

This game is the first of a home and home series between the two talented Eastern Conference teams. They will skate again in Uniondale on Tuesday 11/18/14. Tampa Bay and New York’s statistical lines throughout the 2014-15 look extremely similar.

Chad Johnson Plays Superman As Isles Escape With Win In Beantown

The Islanders came to Boston on a mission to win a physical game against a very good Boston team.

Game Preview: Islanders Against the Canadiens

The Islanders head into Montreal to continue to play out the string of this disappointing season as the Canadiens have everything in the world to play for. Translation, the guys in white could be in for an ugly night.

Isles Lose 4-3 To The Capitals After Shootout

The New York Islanders saw their three-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday night when the surrendered a two-goal lead to the Washington Capitals in a 4-3 shootout loss.

Evgeni Nabokov stopped 26 of 29 shots, while Braden Holtby knocked aside 35 of 38 as well as each shot he faced in the shootout.

Bailey Finally Looking Comfortable In Win Over Sens

The Islanders season has been over for awhile now, their best players have been on the shelf for weeks, and they are basically rolling out the Bridgeport Sound Tigers lineup acting as an NHL lineup day in and day out, but somehow these kids have collected points in 10 of their last 13 games over the past month.
