Eric Boulton: The Perfect Enforcer

Many probably did not expect him to be more than just a fourth line forward that only got the call against top heavy opponents like the New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins, but Eric Boulton has proven to be a rather reliable player (Photo credit: paul.hadsall/Flickr).

Boulton dressed for 15 of last season's 48 games last year and did not register a single point. He had a -4 rating and 36 PIMs to go with it.

This year, Boulton has seen 12 games this year and has two goals, two assists and four points to go along with a +3 rating and 48 PIMs.

Postgame 12/20/13 : Islanders vs. Rangers

Isles beat the Rangers...in REGULATION.

Game Preview:Will The Ducks Strech the Isles Skid to 10?

The Islanders (8-17-5) recent road trip has begun as miserable as the team’s season thus far, as they dropped both games in St. Louis and Los Angeles, while being outscored 8-1. The Isles have dropped a total of 9 games in a row and their season is on the brink of obscurity.

Has It Been Snowing On The Island For Too Long?

The 2013-2014 New York Islanders season was filled with hope and promise long before it even began thanks to a spirited playoff run last year against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Optimism filled the island with high expectations and preparation for a year that would see the Isles return to playoff glory and even better position in the standings (Photo credit: Official New York Islanders/Flickr).

Sadly, things are looking quite the opposite with each game that passes.

Postgame 10/22: Isles Fall to Canucks in OT

The New York Islanders wrapped up their homestand with a battle against the Vancouver Canucks. They are a rare opponent for the Isles. But, the man behind the bench for the Canucks is a familiar face. John Torterella, the former coach of the New York Rangers, is now leading the way for Vancouver

Do The Right Thing Jack, Reunite Tavares and Moulson

The Islanders have begun the season slowly on offense, so for some reason their coach Jack Capuano believes that breaking up the teams top scoring pair is the best way to ignite the team. This logic makes no sense.

Islanders Look To Rebound Against The Nashville Predators

The Islanders will look to rebound from their first regulation loss of the season with a match-up tonight against the Nashville Predators.

The Isles fell 3-2 to the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night in what was a somewhat sloppy game that saw a few of the team's defenseman out of position, leading to multiple scoring opportunities for the defending Stanley Cup champions.

Tonight, the Isles will look to rectify these mistakes and get back to their winning ways.

Reinhart Sent Back To Juniors With Clutterbuck Set To Make His Return

Griffin Reinhart's early tenure with the New York Islanders was so short lived that most fans probably didn't even notice him on the ice.

Well, that's because he never dressed.

While the Isles went 2-0-1 to start the season, Reinhart remained with the team after training camp but never left the press-box. The possibility that Reinhart could have dressed was always there, but head coach Jack Capuano elected to continue each game with a winning (or close to it) line-up.

Game Preview:Isles Take on the Phoenix Coyotes at The Coliseum

After collecting 3 out of a possible 4 points in the first two games of the year, the New York Islanders look to keep the good times rolling with a matchup against a team that many believe can surprise a lot of people this season, the Phoenix Coyotes.
