Game Preview: Flames vs Vancouver Canucks

Heading into Vancouver to face the Canucks, the Flames and the Canucks share one main goal, get their first win of the season. Both teams have got off to sluggish starts as they are winless in their first two games. While the Flames have battled inconsistency, the Canucks have been surrounded by their never ending goalie conundrum between Corey Schneider and Roberto Luongo. One team will get on track tonight, while the other will be digging a deeper hole.

Game Preview: Flames vs Anaheim Ducks

The Flames are right back at it tonight with the Anaheim Ducks in town as the Flames finish off rare back-to-back home games to open their shortened 2013 season. The Flames will look for their first win of the season after a disappointing 4-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks last night at the Dome. The Ducks on the other hand come into Calgary after a great start in Vancouver, beating the Canucks 7-3 to add to the Canucks never ending goaltending questions. This will be the first of three meetings between the teams this season.

The Flames came out flying in the first but quickly reverted back to the 'old' Flames and for got how to play hockey.

A quick three goals by the Sharks and the game was pretty well over.

Flames Season Primer

Will the Flames buy out Matt Stajan?

With the NHL and PA agreeing to accelerate the compliance buy out rule allowing each team to buy out one player before Saturday, are Matt Stajan's days in Calgary over?

I think it's a no brainer, but then again I've been wrong before.

Hockey is Finally Back

The lockout is over and the NHL is set to resume play. I will be in the stands for the home opener, where will you be?

Where do you stand? Do you care or do you just like that hockey is back?

GAME ON!!

The lockout is over as the NHL and the NHLPA have tentatively agreed on a new CBA. There is work to be done to make the deal official and more importantly to win back the fans. It was an embarrassment but as a fan it is good to have hockey back.

Would if you woke up and the NHL and the PA had made the deal that everyone is hoping for?

Would it be a dream come true? I think so.

Players playing Overseas: May the Best Man Win

Do you have a problem with players going overseas to play hockey?

Is it unfair that they take jobs away from other players when they do so?

Or, is it simply a case of owners doing what's right by there fans and putting the best possible product on the ice?

I tend to think it's the latter. But argue with me all you want.
