Hawks win 2-1 in OT against the Nashville Predators

The Blackhawks came into the game off of a frustrating overtime loss to the Calgary Flames. They had close to 50 shots on goal with only one actual goal in the game and as this game wore on it was beginning to have that same feeling as the game against Calgary. The Hawks had 37 shots against Nashville, this time though the results were much different.

Again Corey Crawford was great in the Blackhawks net and kept them in the game when the Predators were surging in the third period. Surprisingly, it was not Pekke Rinne in the Preadtors nets but a name that Blackhawks and IceHogs fans should be very familiar with Carter Hutton.  Hutton has manned many a IceHogs net and Hawks net a...

Flyers Fall Short In Comeback Attempt

I tying goal in the final minutes looked eerily familiar to Tuesday's game.

But failure to get the second point in the shootout ended the Flyers bid at a second straight comeback win as they lost 4-3 to the Predators on Thursday. They walked away with the loser point, which dropped their record to 24-19-5 and keeping them in a tie for second place with the Rangers.

Getting that first point, though, showed the fighting nature this Flyers team has had in recent games. Third period comebacks have become a dangerous aspect of the Flyers recent play.

Hawks defeat Predators as PP keeps rolling

The Hawks looked to keep rolling as they travelled to Nashville to face off against the Predators and former Hawks Carter Hutton and Viktor Stalberg.  The last time the Hawks played in the Nashville rink this season, they were thoroughly beaten 7-2, but tonight walked away with a 3-1 win.  Bryan Bickell made his return after missing roughly a month with a lower body injury, while Antti Raanta made 27 saves and Patrick Kane scored his team-leading 20th goal in the victory.

The Hawks got on the board early with a wicked shot by Duncan K...

Blackhawks head to Nashville for first of back-to-back games

The reunions keep rolling for the Blackhawks as they head to Nashville to play against former Hawks Viktor Stalberg and goalie Carter Hutton just two days after re-acquiring Kris Versteeg.  Versteeg will lace up against the very player who sent him away from the Hawks in a trade to Toronto, Stalberg, who signed as a free agent in Nashville this past summer.

This is the first of back to back games for the Hawks, as they’ll return to the United Center to face off against the San Jose Sharks, their last ho...

Blackhawks & Stars play tonight in possible first round preview

Friday night marks a possible first-round preview as the Blackhawks and Stars drop the puck on their final matchup during the regular season.

The two teams are currently ranked sixth and third in the conference respectively, and if those standings hold, it should make for an entertaining first round -- after all, it was Dallas's own poor effort in their game #82 that sent the Blackhawks, not the Stars, to the playoffs last spring.

Before these two teams can look at April, however, they must first finish the regular season. Dallas has taken 2 of the 3 games the teams have played so far this season.

The Stars are on a hot streak right now, and nobody is hotte...
