Patrick Kane scored two goals and added a helper and Chicago got a solid performance from netminder Ray Emery as he stopped 22 of 24 shots he faced. Patrick Sharp finished the night with three assists for the Hawks.

Hawks snatch one from Calgary in 3-2 shootout win

The Blackhawks came out of Calgary with a win that they had no business winning but isn’t that what great teams do? They literally snatched a win for what certainly should have been defeat. While they were doing that, back in Chicago and Blackhawks fans everywhere were going through just about as many heart palpations as Ray Emery had logic defying moves.

The Blackhawks came into the Saddledome road weary with having played in Vancouver just 24 hours earlier to face a rested and motivated Calgary Flames. Luckily for the Blackhawks they packed their Ray Bans because it was Ray Emery banning almost everything from the Hawks net.

Blackhawks seek to extinguish the Flames in Calgary tonight

The Blackhaws will be entering the Saddledome on Saturday on the back end of a back-to-back, the third game on their road trip. Despite 2 OT losses in their last two games, Chicago is currently riding a franchise record season-opening point streak (8).

The Calgary Flames had last night off and will be eager to prove themself against red-hot Chicago. Calgary is currently in last place in the Western Conference, with a record of just 1-3-1. Their only win came against the Oilers on the Flames' home ice.

Travel fatigue can't be an excuse for Calgary - the Flames are one of four Western teams whose first 12 games are played more heavily at home than away (8-4) an...

Game Preview: Flames vs Chicago Blackhawks

Things do not get any easier for the Flames as they welcome their toughest test of the season to the Dome, the Chicago Blackhawks. The two teams are on the opposite end of the spectrum in the Western Conference. The Blackhawks have yet to lose in regulation and are tied for 1st with 14 points, while the Flames have got off to a terrible start and sit in the West’s basement.

Blackhawks come up short in SO 2-1

In what was an unusually calm Blackhawks/Canucks tilt, the Blackhawks despite not playing their best still collected a point on the road. Even the Rogers arena crowd seemed pretty subdued except for when Duncan Keith had the puck and a chorus of boos echoed the building.

There were not any incidents, fights or really even any confrontations. Both teams seemed really focused on just picking up points and collecting a win.

For as much as we would like to send Roberto Luongo into stages of self doubt and lost confidence he played brilliantly against the Hawks big guns particularly in the shoot out.

The Hawks never really were able to sustain much pressure on hi...

Blackhawks and Canucks kick off their annual rivalry in Vancouver tonight

Over the past four seasons, the Chicago Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks have had one of the most heated and entertaining rivalries in hockey. The rivalry is even commemorated by the Canucks with a statue outside Rogers Arena dedicated to a famous moment in the 1982 Blackhawks-Canucks Western Conference Final.

Their rivalry goes back for many years, and has resurged lately, as the teams have faced each other multiple times in the playoffs. The Blackhawks managed to knock the Canucks out of a Cup run in 2009 and 2010; and in 2011, Vancouver beat Chicago in overtime in game 7 of an exciting first-round series.

The two teams will face each other only three times this se...
