Dutch and Stas celebrate their win with their bam bam dance The Avs finished the road trip on a high note with two straight wins and a total of 6 points out of a possible 12. Not too shabby for the boys, especially considering they didn't play the greatest the first three games. Several players played some of their best hockey over the road trip, and the number one player that deserves praise is Matt Duchene. He really came into his own during the trip and hopefully he can keep it up the rest of the season. Duchene stays hot but it's not enough Another day, another loss for the Avs. The team just continues to struggle, and you have to wonder if the injuries are finally catching up. It seems that the Stewart injury has taken the air out of the sales of the Avs. The team just isn't playing the up tempo style that they have been in the past that worked. Other teams knew when they played the Avs they would have to work hard to win, but in recent games the team has seemed lazy. The biggest thing wrong is in their own defensive zone, the team just isn't motivated to get the puck out of the zone and actually play some defense. Avs Budaj didn't have his best game Well another day, another Avs loss. The team is really starting to slide after going 1-3-2 in their last 6 games. I am sorry to put blame on certain players, but I believe it is warranted right now with this team. I am so happy to have Anderson back because since Anderson's second injury, Budaj has been playing a lot worse. He is allowing at least 1-2 bad goals per game and especially when the team needs him to come up big for the team. Well the Avs big division win over Minnesota cam with a huge price as the team lost their leading scorer to a broken hand. Even though the Avs won 7-4, Chris Stewart broke his hand during a fight in the second period and is out indefinitely. This is a huge blow to a team already struggling with injuries. The team also recently lost Craig Anderson again to injury when he got a groin injury in a recent game. The Avs just can't catch a break when it comes to the injury bug and they keep pilling up.
