Blackhawks look to be-Devil New Jersey to start East Coast swing

Cruising on a 6-game winning streak, the Blackhawks (18-8-1) head to the northeast this week to face the Devils, Bruins, and Islanders.

The New Jersey Devils (11-13-4; 26 points) current sit outside the playoff picture in the East. They're not bad enough to be in the "Connor McDavid sweepstakes", but they're not exactly breathing down the necks of the 8th place team (Florida, 11-8-7, 29 points, 2 games in hand over NJ).

On Monday night, Jaromir Jagr, 42, played in his 1,500th NHL game - only the 15th player in NHL history to do so. In that game, he had a goal and assist to bring his career total to move into 5th place in the NHL all-time points list...

Top 10 games to look forward to on the Blackhawks' calendar

The Chicago Blackhawks open their championship-defending season on Tuesday, October 1st versus the Washington Capitals. Needless to say, that game will be the number one ticket on Blackhawks' fans lists when regular season single-game tickets go on sale Monday morning, as Chicago has earned the right to raise a handful of banners that night - tops among them, the 2013 Stanley Cup banner.

Three years ago, Capitals forward Troy Brouwer stood on the Blackhawks side of the ice, part of the 2010 Cup-winning team. Now he will return on the visitors' side, as part of a team that is still chasing their first Cup since being founded in 1974. The team will be hungry to mak...

Game Preview:Blackhawks vs. Canucks

CHI v. VAN- Game Preview

9:00pm CST

The Chicago Blackhawks and the Vancouver Canucks renew one the National Hockey League’s most bitter rivalries. This game could be a Western Conference finals preview.

The Blackhawks are coming off of a shootout loss to the Phoenix Coyotes. The Canucks come off of a shootout win of their own over the Detroit Red Wings. It’s going to be weird if Detroit doesn’t make the playoffs. That’s another blog for another day.

Both teams are in the NHL’s top ten in penalty kill percentage. The Blackhawks check in at number four while Vancouver checks in at number seven.

Patrick Kane and Jonatha...

Poor Bobby Lou

Cory Schneider gets the start between the pipes for the Canucks tonight in their most important game of the season as the Canucks try to avoid being the first President Trophy winner to be swept in the first round. The Canucks clearly have more faith in Schneider to start the big game so the bigger question is what do they do with Roberto Luongo?

Blackhawks start the February road trip in Vancouver

Tuesday evening in Vancouver, the Chicago Blackhawks will kick off the start of their February 9-game road stretch with a tilt against the Canucks. Captain Jonathan Toews will be back in the lineup after missing the January 24th game vs. the Predators and the All-Star Game due to a minor injury. It is also likely that Patrick Sharp will be back for the Hawks after missing a few weeks due to a fractured wrist.

So far this season, the Blackhawks and Canucks are 1-1, each taking a win by four goals in the other's barn - the Canucks won 6-2 on November 6 at the United Center in the infamous "game with all the PPGs" (five, to be exact). T...

Game Day: Vancouver Canucks @ Phoenix Coyotes

The Vancouver Canucks and Phoenix Coyotes come from similar situations in both the Northwest and Pacific divisions, where even if wins do come on a regular basis, it's pretty hard to tell.  Despite having won four of their last six games, Phoenix sits seventh in the Western Conference and second-to-last in their own division, whereas the Stanley Cup finalists have won five of seven and aren't even in the playoffs as they sit in 11th spot, 3rd in the Northwest.

Last season these two teams split the series, each grabbing two wins in their opponent's rink (Phoenix won 3-1 and 3-2 at Rogers Arena, while Vancouver took the games at Jobing.com Arena by scores of 4-3 ...
