The Philadelphia Flyers have bought-out goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov.
After a cat-and-mouse game with Bryzgalov's agent, it has been made official that the Flyers are cutting ties with their $51 million goaltender. The news was broken by Flyers beat writer Anthony SanFillippo.
The Philadelphia Flyers will have to win or go home tonight as they are on the brink of elimination for the first time in this season's playoffs when they host the New Jersey Devils in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semi Finals.
They will be doing so without the NHL's leading goal scorer in this year's playoffs, Claude Giroux.

Don’t look now, but the Philadelphia Flyers are a contender.
It didn’t seem possible when the team blew itself up in the offseason to take on young players. It really didn’t seem possible when Chris Pronger went down for the season. It didn’t seem possible when Ilya Bryzgalov kept hemorrhaging goals.
Things have changed.
Through the course of the season the plan that seemed like madness now seems like perfect sanity.
With young players stepping up and filling roles, the Flyers have been balanced and outstanding offensively.
