Blackhawks look to continue streaking versus the Islanders

The Blackhawks (20-8-1) will face a familiar friend when they face off against the NY Islanders (19-10-0) for the first time this season on Saturday night: defenseman Nick Leddy, who was traded to the NYI earlier this year.

Leddy was drafted by the Wild, and was traded to the Blackhawks, where he played 258 games and with whom he won the Stanley Cup in 2013. Leddy has 5 goals, 9 assists in 29 games this season, and seems to be doing well for the Islanders, playing on the top defensive pairing, and averaging several more minutes per game than he did with Chicago. It will be Leddy's first game against his former team.

Chicago will probably be without their captain,...

Hawks win eighth straight, lose Toews

The Hawks game against the Bruins on Thursday night was a case of good news, bad news for the team.

The bad side is that while Chi...

The Blackhawks (31-8-11) are fresh off of a much-needed win against the red-hot Ducks, but they won’t get much rest before turning around to face the Boston Bruins (30-15-2) in a rematch of last year’s Stanley Cup final.  This will be the teams’ first meeting since the Hawks scored twice in 17 seconds to win the cup June 24th, 2013.

The Hawks, despite giving up a 3-0 lead on Fri...

Flyers Stifle Boston; Snap Four-Game Skid

For the first time since March 15 the Flyers knew what it felt like to win a game.

The Flyers snapped a four-game losing streak, beating the Bruins 3-1 Saturday afternoon. It was a hard-earned win for the Orange and Black, who ran into a long string of bad luck the past two weeks.

Ilya Bryzgalov was absolutely fantastic in the win, stopping 33 shots to earn the win.

Clarke MacArthur is One Sharp Player

Rebuilding a team doesn’t have a set blueprint for organizations to follow. There are a variety of ways organizations attempt to transform themselves from chumps to champs. However none of these paths succeed without a big assist from lady luck.

Every team that takes that step has a player they took a flyer on become a revelation. For example, I...
