Game Day: New York Rangers @ Phoenix Coyotes

 

After a disappointing 4-1 showing against Anaheim, the Phoenix Coyotes rebounded nicely against the Edmonton Oilers, winning that game by a score of 4-2 after having fired 42 shots at Devan Dubnyk, ending a three-game skid in the process.  Tonight, a rare visitor enters Jobing.com Arena as the New York Rangers and the Coyotes face off exactly a year and a day since the Rangers rallied to take the December 16th, 2010 meeting in a shootout, 4-3.

The Rangers are coming off a 4-1 loss against St. Louis but are 6-3-1 in their last ten games. After this game, they move on to New Jersey, then play host to the Islanders and Flyers before heading to Washington and Flor...

Game Day: Chicago Blackhawks @ Phoenix Coyotes

The Coyotes saved very little visible emotion for their former selves on Saturday, shelling the Jets' opposition with 34 shots compared to only 19 in return on their way to a 4-1 win.  Now the 2-1-0-1 'Yotes face off against the 2-1-0-1 Blackhawks, who are coming off a shootout loss against the Boston Bruins.  Half of the four matchups between Phoenix and Chicago last year went to a shootout.

While their records through the first four games are identical, their power plays are not.  Chicago even allowed a shorthanded goal on Saturday, and their record sits at 11.8%  compared to the Coyotes' 23.8%.  Last year, the Blackhawks went for a combin...
