Bishop Dealt

According to TSN, the St. Louis Blues have dealt their young gun goaltender Ben Bishop to the Ottawa Senators, in exchange for a second round pick in the 2013 NHL draft.

Bishop, who is currently playing for the Blues AHL affiliate Peoria Rivermen, has put up 24 wins in 38 games played, including 6 shutouts. He also was named the MVP of the AHL all star game this year.

Considered one of the best young goalies not playing in the NHL, Bishop was in a sticky situation in St. Louis. With the signing of both Halak and Elliot for two more years, Bishop needed to play in 17 games this year for the big club for at least 30 minutes, or else he ...
