Niko Hovinen Denies Rumors

Niko Hovinen spoke on the rumors he was heading to Finland after the Trenton Titans shootout loss.

“I know what you’re going to ask me,” he said as he stepped into the press room.

With the report swirling that he was leaving for Finland, and the fact that Eric Swanick was signed to backup Scott Wedgewood for a night, the rumors appeared to be true.

Hovinen Holds Down Fort As Titans Win Opener 3-1

The Trenton Titans began the 2012-13 season with a 3-1 victory over the Greenville Road Warriors, Friday night in Trenton.

Flyers goaltending prospect Niko Hovinen made his North American professional debut and the 6’7” Finnish monster needed his wide shoulders to carry the team.

Trenton Titans Renew Affiliation with Philadelphia Flyers

On July 30, 2012 the Trenton Titans announced that they will once again be affiliated with Philadelphia Flyers and Adirondak Phantoms.

Last season, three players with NHL deals played for the Trenton Titans as forward Luke Pither, defenseman Tyler Hostetter and goaltender Johan Backlund all donned Titans red and black at some point during the season. Also playing for the Titans was Brad Phillips who was drafted by the Flyers in 2007 in the seventh round.

Trenton Titans Recap: 10-23-2011

On Sunday October, 23, the Trenton Titans, ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers hosted the Cincinnati Cyclones at Sun National Bank Center in Trenton.

Both teams had some quality scoring chances in the first period, with ten shots apiece. An early goal by Joe Devin and some great saves by goalie Chet Pickard of the Cyclones sent the Titans into the first intermission trailing, 1-0.
