Should the Red Wings Pursue Knuble?

In what will end up being a mediocre off-season in the eyes of Detroit Red Wings fans everywhere, the organization has done very little and seems to be all out of ideas. But does it make sense to go after yet another forward?

Free Agency 2012: Zach Parise and Ryan Suter Both Sign With Minnesota Wild

The two biggest free agents on the market this summer have made their decision, and their decision is Minnesota.

It was announced early Tuesday afternoon that both Zach Parise and Ryan Suter have agreed to terms with the Minnesota Wild, both for 13-year, $98 million deals.

Parise, the former captain of the New Jersey Devils, scored 404 points in 502 games over seven seasons with the Devils. After suffering from a season-ending injury last season, he had a successful comeback season, with 69 points in 82 games. He led his team to Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals, where they ultimately lost to the Los Angeles Kings.

Free Agency 2012: Caps Add Defenseman Jack Hillen

The Washington Capitals have announced the signing of 26-year old defenseman Jack Hillen to a one-year, one-way contract worth $650,000.

Hillen spent last season with the Nashville Predators, appearing in 55 games and scoring six total points.  In his previous two seasons with the New York Islanders, Hillen had 22 and 21 points respectively.

Hillen is the second player added by General Manager George McPhee during the 2012 free agency period, to go along with Joey Crabb who was signed Sunday.  Hillen and Crabb were teammates at Colorado College from 2004-2006.

McPhee still has some work to do to fill the holes on the blue line, mainly the one left by Denn...

Dallas Stars Acquire Derek Roy

In perhaps Joe Nieuwendyk's biggest move since becoming general manager, the Dallas Stars have acquired center Derek Roy from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for super-pest Steve Ott and defenseman Adam Pardy.

Roy, 29, is most known for his scoring ability and quickness. He has fallen off the path in the past few seasons by posting career lows in goals and points, but he possesses the tools necessary to post 60-70 points; this is evidenced by his numbers from 2006-10.

Roy has one more year left on his deal at $4 million before becoming an unrestricted free agent next summer.

After signing Aaron Rome to a deal yesterday, Pardy became an expendable asset. Ott's name...
