Game 2 only takes 1OT for Blues to capture 2-0 lead in series against Blackhawks

After an incredibly intense, well-balanced Game 1 which went all the way into a 3OT situation, the Blackhawks and Blues are meeting again for Game 2 of the 1st round of the playoffs. The Blues took the first game with a game winning goal 26 seconds into the 3rd overtime period,making it the longest game their franchise ever played, at over 100 minutes.

On their return to Boston’s TD Garden after winning the Stanley Cup there last summer, the Chicago Blackhawks were unable to solve the Bruins’ goaltender Tuukka Rask, who made 28 saves throughout the game. The Blackhawks have only been shutout 3 times this season.

Tension running high in Blackhawks overtime loss to Flyers

The Blackhawks were in Philadelphia to face the Flyers on Tuesday night before going back home to the UC to play the St Louis Blues on Wednesday.

 

The starting goaltenders for each team were backup rookie goalkie Antti Raanta for the Bkackhawks, and former Blackhawks Ray Emery for Philadelphia. Emery won the Cup with Chicago last season and signed with the Flyers during the offseason.
