Preview: The Kings (10-6-2; 22 points) travel to Vancouver to play the slumping Canucks (10-5-4; 24 points) tonight at 7. A week ago Los Angeles was last in the Pacific Division but after five consecutive wins they sit in second just behind the Anaheim Ducks. The Canucks stand on top of the Northwest Division but have gone on a lull dropping two straight and collecting only two wins in their last seven games.

With the teams heading in different directions look for a fast and open first period. The Kings have had more success in the beginning of games creating pressure leading to scoring opportunities. Cory Schneider is expected to start in the net for the Canucks...

It's a showdown between the top two teams in the Western Conference, and right now the Red Wings lead the season series 2-1.

But a lot has changed since the last meeting between these two. The Red Wings have made history and now hold a 23 game consecutive win streak at the Joe. The Canucks are now only two points behind the Wings. And the Wings also happen to be without their star forward Pavel Datsyuk.

The 33 year-old is expected to miss a month after having surgery on his knee. Datsyuk 16 goals and 43 assists this season, so it is to no surprise that fans may be a bit nervous about his absence.

The Montreal Canadiens will look to bounce back from a slightly embarrassing 3-2 shootout loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday evening, as they prepare to face the Vancouver Canucks at the Bell Centre.

Logic would dictate that the Habs will be looking at another loss after tonight's game, but this team doesn't exactly follow the laws of physics. If this season has proven anything, it's that when their backs are up against the wall (i.e., the coach's job seems to be in jeopardy), this team will bust out a win against the most unlikely opponent.
