This is the big chance Sean Couturier has been waiting for.

Granted the 19-year-old wasn't in favor of it coming at the cost of Claude Giroux's noodle, Couturier is looking forward to shedding Zac Rinaldo and Harry Zolnierczyk as line mates in favor of a future Hall of Famer and one of the best goal-scoring pests in the NHL.

Couturier will see a promotion to the first scoring line with Jaromir Jagr and Scott Hartnell tomorrow night in Washington.

In the second period of the Flyers 5-2 win over Tampa Bay, Giroux suffered a freak head injury. While down, forward Wayne Simmonds tried to avoid Giroux but caught him in the back of the head with his knee.

Because of this year’s Winter Classic matchup, players and fans should expect to be inundated with questions, information and banter about the hatred between the Broad Street Bullies and the Broadway Blueshirts.

The first matchup featuring the Phoenix Coyotes and departed goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov didn't amount to a result they liked, what with Matt Read scoring the game-winning goal with just 18.6 seconds remaining in the final frame. Now, in their own barn, the Coyotes are looking for proper revenge. Problem is, they may not even get it as Sergei Bobrovsky might get the start in goal for the Flyers as they visit Jobing.com Arena.

The Flyers last faced another former team of Bryzgalov's, Anaheim, less than 24 hours ago. The Ducks got the jump on them with three goals, but the Flyers came back to take the game in overtime, 4-3. Phoenix is coming off a 1-0 loss against Winnipeg ...

In their first game on a short west coast swing, the Philadelphia Flyers looked awful. They turned the puck over. They blew defensive coverage in front of their net. Goalie Ilya Bryzgalov looked like he was 'lost in the woods' yet again.

Somehow, some way, the Flyers came back and defeated the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 in overtime.
