Isles vs. Jets Pre-Game - A Trap Game?

The Islanders will probably need to improve their regular season points-performance (79 or less in each of the last five years-excluding the lockout) by at least 26 points if they are to make the post-season.

Bailey out, Lee in, Roster Changes Galore

That's right, the injury bug has already taken its toll on the New York Islanders

Chad Johnson Plays Superman As Isles Escape With Win In Beantown

The Islanders came to Boston on a mission to win a physical game against a very good Boston team.

Halloween Comes Early: Isles Dress As Jekyll & Hyde

Gonna keep this short because obviously no one wants to read a novel after a brutal loss like that.

Who Has Had the Most Underrated Start to the Season?

These two players in particular have captured my attention the most this season.

Undefeated Isles Prepare To Face The Penguins

The New York Islanders (4-0-0) will look to continue their winning ways tonight when they visit another Metropolitan Division rival, the Pittsburgh Penguins (2-1-0) at the Consol Energy Center.

The Penguins are going to look to come out strong from the gate after a heartbreaking loss to the Dallas Stars 3-2 on Thursday night. The Pens were headed to overtime with the Stars, but Tyler Seguin would score a power play goal with only 3 seconds remaining on the clock while Sidney Crosby sat in the penalty box.

A tough loss to swallow will likely have Crosby and Co. fired up and ready to go on home ice from the second the puck is dropped.

Post-Game Reaction 10.16.14 - Fish Sticks Anyone?

For the first time, in a long time, fish sticks don't sound that bad! And with the revival of the Stan Fischler Fisherman Jersey this past week, it seems only fitting that the Islanders drowned the Sharks in a Shootout spectacular that saw Captain Tavares bait Alex Stay-Lock with multiple hooks, lines and the eventual backhand sinker to seal the victory and keep the Islanders afloat in unbeaten waters.

Isles Wash The Rags At The Garden

As the “Lets Go Islanders” chants rained down from the Madison Square Garden rafters, while the horn sounded on an entertaining game, the Rangers’ Ryan Malone showed the only fight the Rangers could muster in the 3rd period by giving a couple of cheap shots to Brian Strait. Too little too late, as the Islanders took the first matchup of the season against their rivals in an impressive 6-3 victory.

It's a Long Season, "Challenge Accepted"

2 Down, 80 more to go, and another 16 W's after that! This past weekend has seen a whirlwind of emotions carry from Raleigh to Long Island, like... well, a hurricane. The Isles have gotten themselves off to a 2-0 start, their best in a decade, but now the real challenge begins. Can the team carry the momentum from the final home opener into the next few weeks?
