Hawks grind out the Blues with 4-2 win

Sunday is usually a day for rest and relaxation. On this Sunday afternoon the Blackhawks continued their hard worker bee mentality and were able to grind down the St. Louis Blues. Minus several key players and with Brandon Saad a healthy scratch again saw several maybe not as well known players, unless you follow the Rockford IceHogs, step up but none more than Jeremy Morin.

The plucky Morin had a whale of a game with a goal and an assist. Morin has been bounced between the Blackhawks and the IceHogs all year and this time he is looking to stick with the Hawks and make a case for himself with the coaches to put him on the ice. Fortitude is what Morin has displayed all year whether i...

Blackhawks look to rock the Madhouse tonight in home opener

In just a few hours, the "feathered faithful" will fill the United Center to capacity, and the rafters will hopefully thunder to the chorus of "Chelsea Dagger", the Blackhawks' signature goal song.

There is no banner to raise to their own rafters this year, but the Blackhawks want to have a good home opener after ruining LA and Phoenix's.

Chicago will be kicking off their home games against one of their fiercest rivals, the St. Louis Blues. The Blues will be rolling into town on the back end of a road back-to-back after dispatching the Nashville Predators in a shootout on Monday night, 4-3. Prior to visiting Nashville, the Blue...

TCL Round 2 Staff Predictions: St. Louis Blues vs. Los Angeles Kings

2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs - Western Conference SemifinalsSt. Louis Blues ( 2 ) vs. Los Angeles Kings ( 8 )  Also Read: Ty Fisher's Series preview for the Kings. Once again, we're looking at a series that most definitely has to be about the battle between the pipes, as St. Louis and Los Angeles face off as unlikely second round opponents. Jonathan Quick absolutely lit up the west this season and may have been the only reason the Kings even made the playoffs. On the other side of the ice, the Blues have two (count 'em!) goaltenders that could have and maybe should have been up for the Vezina trophy in Brian Elliott and Jaroslav Halak. We may be soun...

TCL Round 1 Staff Predictions: St. Louis Blues vs. San Jose Sharks

( 2 ) ST. LOUIS BLUES vs. ( 7 ) SAN JOSE SHARKS

It's still uncertain whether the San Jose Sharks have shed their reputation of being chokers. They made the conference finals the last two seasons, but lost pretty badly both times. Considering every year lately seems to be "their year", even the conference finals seems like it's not enough. But this year is different. They haven't exactly been dominating the west as they usually do, in fact they barely squeaked into the playoffs. But the pressure is still there even if it might not seem like it, and people's jobs will more than likely be on the line if they "choke" yet again.&...

Blues Continue Their Battle for Tops in the West

The Blues' rise to the top of the Central Division, second in the Western Conference, and third overall in the whole of the NHL, all started with a win against the Blackhawks back in early November, and, coming into tonight's game against their central division rival's they hope to keep the momentum they have built up continuing.

Although the 'Hawks have gotten the better of them the last two outings, a 3 – 1 loss on the road and 5 – 2 loss at home, a win tonight would even the season's match up at two games a piece. T...

Elliot Returning to Ottawa With Vezina Talk in Tow

Looking back to the start of the season, if you were to ask any hockey expert who the starting goalie of the St. Louis Blues would be, they would not have said Brian Elliot. If you asked any of those same experts whose numbers which goaltender would be represented by a 1.69 G.A.A, a .938 save percentage and five shutouts at the All-Star break, they would not have guessed Brian Elliot. Or even better, if you asked those same questions to the Sens Army they would not have responded with Brian Elliot.

However, if you were to ask Brian Elliot himself wha...
